Sex Club Owner Strikes Out on Privacy Appeal - Leonard
Link, December 25, 2006
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit has rejected an attempt by
the corporate owner of a gay sex club in Phoenix, Arizona, to assert the
privacy rights of its patrons in an effort to invalidate a city law that
may be used to shut down the club. Ruling on December 22 in Fleck and
Associates v. Phoenix, 2006 WL 3755201, court held that corporations do
not themselves have privacy rights, and that the club cannot bring suit to
vindicate the privacy rights of its "members."

- Minnesota Masseuse May Lose License for Having
Sexual Relations with Her Husband
- The Associated Press, August 7, 2006
A Masseuse could lose her state license as a massage therapist for having
sexual relations with her husband who is a former client. He saw her
professionally from October 2000 to May 2002, and the two say they started
dating in July 2002. But when they consummated the relationship a few
months later, they ran afoul of a Minnesota law that bans massage
therapists from having sexual relations with former clients for two years.

Gay Rights Group Marks 20th Anniversary - The
Advocate, September 1, 2006
Missouri has made strides over the last two decades in protecting the
rights of its lesbian, gay, transgender, and bisexual residents, the
leader of advocacy group Promo said. The group was founded in St. Louis as
the Private Education Rights Project to work for the repeal of a state law
that made sodomy between same-sex partners a crime. In July, three years
after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled a similar Texas law unconstitutional,
the group finally got its wish when Gov. Matt Blunt signed legislation
removing the sodomy statute from the books.
