Her evidence has already put two of them behind bars

The teenager who performed oral sex on former police
sergeant Annis Abdullah did the same for at least one other man.
He is a 26-year-old technician who was sentenced to 16
months in jail on Nov 10, just four days after Annis was sentenced by district
judge Wong Keen Onn.
The court heard that she performed oral sex on him twice
in 2002 when she was 14. It was the same year she met Annis.
As with Annis, she also got to know the man in an
Internet chatroom. She then met him at his Bukit Batok West home where they
had oral sex in January or February, and again in March.
She met Annis in March, and had oral sex with him in his
car in Chinese Garden Road the following month.
In May, she reported Annis to the police, and it was
during police investigations that she admitted that she had performed oral sex
on two other men.
The third man is known only as Ibrahim.
While Annis admitted that they had engaged in oral sex,
the technician protested his innocence during his four-day trial in October
last year, maintaining that they did not go beyond kissing and petting.
But district judge Kow Keng Siong threw out his story and
he was convicted on two counts of ‘carnal intercourse against the order of
nature’.
His stepmother, a 49-year-old part-time tutor, said the
family had decided not to appeal, despite his lawyer’s advice, as they were
afraid that he would be given an even higher sentence.
Under the Penal Code, the punishment for having oral sex
could amount to life imprisonment.
But she said she now regretted the decision not to appeal
as Annis had his two-year jail sentence halved by the Chief Justice on
Tuesday.
Her son had written to her about a week ago from prison,
still maintaining his innocence.
Her son was ‘very angry with the girl for putting him
in jail because he didn’t do it’, she said.
The technician, the second of four sons, is due to be
married to his long-time fiancee when he is released.
His stepmother and his fiancee have been keeping in
touch.
‘We SMS each other a few times every day, and I just
tell her to pray very hard because God will look after him,’ his stepmother
said.
