Jeers

Private acts: What goes on behind closed doors between consenting adults is of no one else’s business. Therefore, the inability of the House of Representatives to approve the decriminalization of consensual sexual acts committed privately is rather ridiculous.

Opponents of the bill claim it would lead to promiscuity in public restrooms and parks—but these acts are prohibited under other laws prohibiting public nudity and obscenity.

The law is outdated and virtually unenforceable. Sex between individuals is no one’s business except that of the parties involved—keep the government out of it.
