Vermont

Statute: Repealed 1977

History

1899     The Vermont Supreme Court rules that the state’s general common-law reception statute can be used to prosecute sodomy, since the state has no sodomy law.

News

This year in the Vermont legislature we have a bill that will prohibit an employee of a school district from encouraging, promoting or sanctioning homosexual conduct. you can read the bill at http://www.leg.state.vt.us/docs/2002/bills/intro/H-259.HTM This bill is part of the backlash to the civil unions bill passed last year.
