Louisiana Bill Targets Public Sex
The
Advocate, May 21, 2003
The Louisiana house criminal justice committee on Monday
unanimously approved a bill that would ban public sex, The New York Times
reports. Those found violating the proposed laws would face up to one year in
jail and a $1,000 fine. State representative Daniel R. Martiny said he
proposed the bill after viewing what he called a “very graphic, very
offensive” video showing public sex that was made by the Reverend Grant
Storms during the New Orleans gay and lesbian festival Southern Decadence.
