Volunteer
GLAPN would not be where it is today without the dedication of its volunteers to help with every facet of its operation. Everyone is welcome and no particular skills are necessary other than the commitment to lend a hand with particular functions of interest. Time commitments vary considerably, since most members have regular careers, and no one will be turned away for willingness to help out. Many volunteers have backgrounds in archive services, as community historians, social workers, and as researchers or writers.
Functional capacities for volunteer assistance includes:
- biographical interviewers
- interview transcribers
- presenters and educators
- outreach coordinators
- archiving coordinators
- artists and photographers
- writers
- non-profit administration and leadership
- fundraising
- web design and maintenance
Don’t be shy! If this kind of work appeals to you or you have information to share, simply let us know, or feel free to attend any of our public meetings. We can be reached at volunteer@glapn.org.
